About Me
I am professionally trained to work as a Psychosynthesis Transpersonal Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling Psychotherapy (MBACP).
Psychosynthesis psychology includes a focus on the interconnectedness of body, mind, and emotions, a concept expanded upon by evidence-based approaches including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) which I find useful to draw upon. I use approaches developed in DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) to help clients manage strong emotions.
My training in Psychosynthesis counselling means I can support you to grow, to change, and to move beyond limiting ways which are causing pain and suffering. I will bring a focus to helping you find purpose, meaning, and fulfilment in your life.
Before qualifying as a counsellor I worked in development and management roles, supporting young people with their mental health; in theatre, arts, and community organisations; and an environmental campaigning organisation. I worked as a teacher and translator in Europe and the Middle East. My work has always involved development from a place of deep understanding, and continue to be strongly motivated by social justice, to equality, diversity and inclusion.
I abide by the ethical and professional guidelines of BACP. I have regular supervision. Our sessions are strictly confidential. I am fully insured. I am continuously engaged in ongoing professional development, training, and research.
